The Rehab CenterT. Kern Carlton III, Medical Director

Dr. Kern Carlton received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Wake Forest University. He completed his Internal Medicine internship at the University of Virginia affiliated hospitals in Roanoke, Virginia, and his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at The Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. During his final year he was chief resident. He is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pain Medicine, and in Independent Medical Examination.

Dr. Carlton is a member of The American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, The North Carolina Medical Society, and The Mecklenburg County Medical Society.

Dr. Carlton specializes in the evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with musculoskeletal injuries, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (RSD), chronic pain, traumatic brain injuries, and spinal cord injuries. He also performs electrodiagnostic evaluations, including electromyography and nerve conduction studies. He has been the Medical Director of The Rehab Center since 1993.
