CONCUSSION CARE SERVICES

We use the same interdisciplinary team approach which we have proven successful with our Chronic Pain Program and restructured it to serve the work injury concussion population. We treat the most complicated work-related concussions through acute and subacute outpatient care, work hardening or work conditioning programs, or our 20-day interdisciplinary restorative program for our most chronic patient presentations. 

Our interdisciplinary team includes

  • Board-certified physicians experienced in concussion evaluation and management including brain injury board-certified physician

  • Physical therapy team including a board-certified neurological physical therapist and certified brain injury specialist

  • Neuropsychologist

  • Psychologist

  • Vocational Specialist

 

With our combined expertise, we thoroughly evaluate, diagnose, and treat work-related concussions. We take a collaborative and evidence-based approach. Our clinicians are up to date on the latest concussion research. We work with our patients to create personalized treatment plans that enable our patients to safely recover and maximize function, maximize employability, and family participation. 

Concussion Symptoms

  • Headache

  • Nausea and vomiting

  • Dizziness and balance impairments

  • Fatigue or drowsiness

  • Difficulties falling asleep, staying asleep, or sleeping too much

  • Light or sound sensitivity

  • Mood changes including irritability, depression anxiety or increased emotional liability

  • Cognitive changes include difficulties concentrating, impaired memory or mental “fogginess”
